Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has called on Corps members posted to the State to deploy their unique individual abilities to promote national development and also work tirelessly towards achieving the goals of the founding fathers of he National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
The Governor who made the call during the swearing-in of the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream two Corps members deployed to Ekiti State at the NYSC Orientation Camp Ise-Orun/Emure Ekiti orientation Camp stressed the need for Corps members to see themselves as agents of positive change and support efforts of government at improving the general wellbeing of the people in their respective host communities.
Speaking through the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Gold Adedayo, Governor Oyebanji emphasised the importance of making hard work, discipline, patriotism and service for humanity their watch words.
He assured them that the state government would continue to accord recognition for outstanding achievements by Corps members, adding that whatever sacrifices they make to better the communities would be acknowledged and properly rewarded.
Oyebanji noted that the state had consistently rewarded outstanding Corps members with the prestigious state honours award and therefore solicited the unflinching steadfastness of the new set in rendering outstanding service at their places of primary assignment.
He charged them to brace up and rise to deploy their unique individual abilities to national service, blend into the vast community of other young Nigerians.
Oyebanji urged the corps members to build sustainable relationships, network profitably, take full advantage of the entrepreneurial skills trainings they learnt in camp, as well as get reliably educated on Nigeria’s broad ethnicities.
Assuring the corps members of their safety during their stay in the state, the Governor however cautioned them against embarking on unnecessary night journeys and inimical acts.

Earlier in his address, the Ekiti State Coordinator, of the NYSC, Alhaji Riko Shaibu urged the corps members to shun cultism and acts capable of threatening the peaceful co-existence of the orientation camp.
He said that adequate measures had been put in place to checkmate any inimical acts that may truncate the smooth running of the camp.
Shaibu urged the corps members to play an active part in activities lined up for the orientation programme which he said would prepare them for the task ahead.
