Ekiti State Government is set to host one of the most significant innovation gatherings in Africa tagged “The Ekiti Innovation Summit 2024”, from 3rd to 6th November, 2024 at the Obafemi Awolowo Civic Centre, Fajuyi, Ado-Ekiti.
The State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Digital Economy, Mr Seun Fakuade who made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti said, “Makers-Space: Unleashing Creativity through the Power of Innovation Spaces” is the theme for this year Summit.
He stressed that the summit aims to assert Ekiti as a continental leader in innovation and technology, bringing together leading experts, entrepreneurs, tech developers and government officials to explore the role of innovation hubs and makerspaces in driving creativity and economic growth.
Fakuade said Ekiti State governor, Biodun Oyebanji has expressed confidence that the summit would position the State as a trailblazer in tech-driven economic development, fostering partnerships and investments that will build Ekiti’s reputation as Africa’s Innovation Capital.
“Ekiti is poised to lead Africa into the future of technology and innovation. With our focus on building innovation spaces, we are providing the fertile ground for the next generation of African creators and problem-solvers,” alluding to what the governor said.

He said the event would feature keynote speeches from global thought leaders, panel discussions, innovation showcases, and networking sessions designed to stimulate collaboration across sectors.
Notable participants expected at the summit include include; representatives from Innovate UK, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and top Nigerian tech firms.
The Summit will be formally declared open on Monday, 4th November, 2024 at the Obafemi Awolowo Civic Centre, Fajuyi, Ado-Ekiti at 9.00am prompt
