Ekiti Govt Restates Commitment to initiatives that will help students harness their talents

Ekiti State Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Digital Economy, Hon Seun Fakuade has pledged that the present administration in the State would continue to come up with initiatives that will empower Students to harness their innate talents and also aid them to develop required skills necessary to navigate and shape their future.

The commissioner gave the assurance in Ado-Ekiti at the Launch of a week-long STEAM Boot Camp organized by his Ministry for selected students of all the Public Secondary Schools in the State

He emphasized that the program is more than just a training camp but a strategic component of the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Digital Economy’s blueprint to enhance the educational experience across the State, adding that STEAM Bootcamp is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical skill development, fostering self-reliance and positioning the students as key drivers of creative economic development of Ekiti State.

Fakuade who appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji for approving and funding the STEAM Boot Camp, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for Education, Dr (Mrs) Bimpe Aderiye for her unwavering support and commitment to education and innovation.

In her goodwill message, the State Commissioner for Education, Dr Bimpe Aderiye who applauded the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Digital Economy for organizing the laudable program, promised her continuous support for the Ministry in innovating the young students to be self reliant

Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Digital Economy, Mr Ayodele Adeyanju, said the STEAM Boot camp was borne out of the sincere desire and aspirations of the present administration in the state to place science education in its rightful place as the pivot of the Nation’s development process.

He further said that, It is indeed a thing of joy that the State is embarking on this transformative journey through Ekiti STEAM Bootcamp, an initiative “that reflects the Government’s shared commitment to equipping the young people with the tools needed to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of the 21st century”

Dignitaries that graced the occasion include the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Information, Mr Olusesan Alabi as well as his counterpart in the Ministry of Education, Mr Michael Omolayo amongst others.
