….Government on top of situation.
Contrary to rumours circulating, the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has said that Government has not declared any emergency or imposed curfew in the State.
Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun described the rumour as absolutely falsehood and possibly an attempt to cause anarchy by fifth-columnists to destabilize the State.
Olatunbosun who stressed that Government is aware of the report of activities of some hoodlums in parts of Ado Ekiti, the State capital, assured all law abiding residents of the State that the State Government is on top of the situation having put the Police and other security agencies on notice.

He said “I also wish to state categorically that crime and criminality have no place in Ekiti and the security agencies are working round the clock to apprehend the perpetrators of the evil deeds and safeguard lives and property of the people.
“The State Government is irrevocably committed to making the State uninhabitable for criminals and will continue to provide all necessary support for the security agencies to make them efficient in preventing and detecting crime, apprehending offenders, and ensuring that justice is served, thereby making the communities safe.
“People in the State should therefore discountenance the unfounded rumours and go about their lawful businesses without fear of harassment or intimidation as the State is safe for all law abiding people”.
