As part of efforts to ensure that Government projects are well executed, delivered on time and ultimately be of value to the targeted beneficiaries, the Ekiti State Government has approved the procurement of a soft-ware based platform that helps project officers and executives manage their project monitoring and performance tracking activities.
The State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun who made this known in Ado Ekiti, said that the Strategic Project Monitoring System (SPMS), a.k.a. DASHBOARD is expected to boost collaboration between project team members and the executives by providing Governments with a point of truth for project information.
Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun explained that “the DASHBOARD comes with an internal use soft-ware that digitizes project files and pictures to be accessible easily and securely online which would assist in actualizing Ekiti Performance, Assessment, Improvement Report (EKPAIR) goals and objectives that could be used in tracking activities of the MDAs.
According to him, “experiences and feedbacks obtained revealed that tracking of activities using an automated software-based system is essential to help fast-track the monitoring of activities/programmes of MDAs which would ultimately lead to more efficient and effective in-service delivery to the state”.

In his remarks, the Director General/ Special Adviser, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), Dr. John Ekundayo listed the other benefits of the software to include proper execution and timely delivery of developmental projects to residents while project files and pictures would be digitalized to make them secure and easily accessible online thus allowing prompt access to project information for executive decision making with the Governor easy access anywhere without the usual cumbersome consultation.
Stressing that the system also has the ability to expunge duplicated information on the data base, Dr. Ekundayo said it would, in addition, help to block all forms of financial leakages consequently saving money for the State that can be used for other developmental ventures.
”With the State Executive Council’s approval for the award of contract for the monitoring system to MESSRS IRESKILLS CONCEPT at a contract sum of N58,474,625.00, Ekiti State, seemingly, becomes the first State in the Country to deploy a DASHBOARD to aid in service delivery”, he asserted.
