
Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board(SUBEB) has begun the digitization of Education Management Information System for Primary and secondary schools in the State.
Ekiti SUBEB Executive Chairman, Prof. Femi Akinwumi during the presentation of “Eduporch Scheme” facilitated by Alusoft Technologies Ltd. in the three(3) pilot SUBEB Model Schools, across the three senatorial districts of the state said at a forum in Ado-Ekiti that the successful launch of the programme in Three pilot schools marks a significant milestone in the march towards paperless operations in designated schools in the State.
He explained that the presentation, based on the report from the 3 schools in Ado, Ikere and Ido is to showcase the achievement of the digitization drive and secure further support and commitment to expanding the initiative across the state.

Akinwumi said that the deployment of Edupoch as a pilot scheme for digitization in the 3 schools has been successfully carried out with significant milestone achieved.
He added that the system will further and enhance the overall quality of education management in the state.
Akinwumi also noted that, with the progress so far, the schools are expected to move into a Paperless era and he believes all schools would eventually rely on digital approach for recording, storing and managing information and data.
The SUBEB boss appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his commitment and passion towards the growth of basic education.
He particularly commended the Governor for providing the enabling environment in all public primary schools through the continuous training of teachers, provision of infrastructure, prompt payment of counterpart funds and teachers welfare programs.
Akinwumi also added that SUBEB would put the best foot forward in ensuring that the numerous achievements of the Oyebanji led administration in the basic education sector is sustained and improved upon.
Earlier in their respective remarks, the SUBEB Commissioners, Project Management, Bar. Kayode Adeoye and Commissioner Human Resource Management, Dr. Olufunke Fajobi said they have both been impressed with the report received from the 3 pilot schools on the effectiveness of the education management information system.
The Commissioners found the scheme useful to the education system and recommended its adoption by the State into the education sector.
While making his presentation, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Alusoft Technologies Ltd., Mr Femi Adewumi lauded the State Government and SUBEB for the opportunity to showcase the importance and effectiveness of the Edupoch system to education.
Mr. Adewumi, while speaking on the achievements of the successful test-run, highlighted some of the advantages of the system to include; full customization of the system portal to fit specific structures in schools, template for assessment and grading pf results, class structures and allocation of subjects to teachers and digitization of teachers, pupils and subject data.
He also mentioned that his team had earlier embarked on Orientation training for teachers, to ensure seamless adoption of the Edupoch platform for recording assessment scores and school management.
The Head Teachers of the three schools appreciated Ekiti SUBEB for choosing thir schools to pilot the project.
They said the scheme will be extremely useful to generate and check results online, send results to parents via sms and also help the tea hers with their lesson plans, notes, assignments and attendance.
In attendance were the SUBEB, Acting Permanent Secretary, Directors, Education Secretaries and Project Manager of Alusoft.
