
…as wife of Governor tasks beneficiaries to strive for excellence in the UTME
The Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has charged the 3000 beneficiaries of the free Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) e-PINs programme of the Ekiti State Government to remain focused and prepare adequately for the forthcoming 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination
Dr Oyebanji gave the charge in Ado Ekiti, while distributing the E-pins to the qualified beneficiaries across the state.
While admonishing the students on the need to fill the forms properly and ensure they choose the right subject combinations, Dr Oyebanji explained that the success of the beneficiaries in the forthcoming JAMB examination would not only make their families proud, but also serve as a beacon of hope for the younger generation.

Dr. Oyebanji also maintained that the initiative was another testimony to the unwavering commitment of the present administration to the educational advancement of the youths every year.
While stating that the State Government had committed N25.8 million for the purchase of the PINs from the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) she disclosed that “The sum of N16,627,000 was expended in 2023 for 3000 e-PINs plus administrative charges, N20,000,000 in 2024 and N25,800,000 this year. The government has consistently paid WAEC examination fees for SS3 students in public secondary schools, noting that over N600million has been earmarked for the payment of WAEC this year while Government had also prioritized the release of running grants to all public schools, capacity building of teachers to enhance teaching and learning.”

“Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, we have continued to implement progressive policies aimed at ensuring that every child in Ekiti State, regardless of background or socio-economic status, has access to good quality education”, She added.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Adebimpe Aderiye said the government had used the platform to demonstrate the belief that no talented ,and hardworking student would suffer set back due to financial constraints.
Also speaking at the event, the State Commissioner for Information, Rt Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun stated that the event was yet another manifestation or irrevocable commitment of the Oyebanji Administration towards ensuring that all children have access to free compulsory education.
He said that apart from massively upgrading the teaching and learning environment in all 203 public secondary schools and the over 900 public primary schools in the State, the present administration had also recruited and exposed teachers to training and retraining as well as introduced conditional cash transfer to enable indigent pupils and students complete their studies and transit to next level of their Educational pursuit through collaboration of Government with the World Bank assisted Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning Empowerment (AGILE)
In their various goodwill messages, some of the stakeholders in the state’s educational sector urged the beneficiaries to make use of the opportunity and excel in their examinations.
The stakeholders, which include; the board chairman, Ekiti State Agency for Adult and Non Formal Education, Chief Iyabo Fafure; Special Adviser to the Governor on Tertiary Education, Prof. Azeez Akeem; SUBEB Chairman, Prof. Femi Akinwumi; Princess Adetoun Agboola and Teaching Service Commission Chairman,Mrs. Rhoda Ojo eulogized the good gesture of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and charged benefiting candidates to justify the huge amount the government is expending on the examination by scoring high marks in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations
