
Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has set a clear roadmap for improved performance and professionalism among Information Officers in the State in 2025.
Addressing the State Information Officers in Ado Ekiti during their maiden weekly review meeting in the new year, Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun commended them for their dedication to work in the past year.
Olatunbosun however stressed the importance of not resting on their oars, adding that they need to up their game in order to successfully deliver their mandate of effectively disseminating information on Government’s plans, programmes and policies in line with the Oyebanji administration’s policy of inclusive and transparent governance in the competitive global environment.
The Government spokesman emphasized the commitment of Governor Oyebanji to keeping all stakeholders abreast of Government’s activities with the aim of raising awareness and encouraging collaboration, stressing the importance of maintaining professional discipline to achieve the desired goals.
He reiterated the commitment of the administration to the welfare of workers, describing the State’s helmsman as a workers-friendly Governor who is passionate about the progress and general wellbeing of the State workforce.

Disclosing that the Ministry would soon introduce new strategies and innovations to boost information management, the Commissioner advised the officers to heighten their reporting standards, strategic thinking, creativity and effective use of communication tools in order to be in tune with the on-going development in the State.
According to him, journalism is a profession grounded in principles, ethics and guidelines which must be strictly followed especially in the prevailing digital age in order to excel, adding that priority must be placed on how to enhance reporting standards, strategic thinking, creativity, effective use of communication tools and fostering collaboration to effectively promote the government’s policies and programmes.

He stressed the importance of maintaining professional discipline, urging officers to pursue information relevant to their career paths and adhere to their primary duties.
Olatunbosun also advised the officers to synergize with one another with the senior ones providing mentorship to their junior colleagues to boost efficiency and service delivery.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Olusesan Alabi expressed gratitude to the State Government for providing conducive environment for Officers to work and realize their goals, adding that the dispositions of both Governor Oyebanji and the Information Commissioner are inspiring to workers in the Ministry and worthy of praise.
He pledged the continued dedication of Information Officers to their duties, adding that no stone would be left unturned towards improving commitment and service delivery towards achieving the desired goal.
