Parents/Teachers Associations of the 16 Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Model Nursery and Primary Schools and three crèches in Ekiti State have endorsed Governor Oyebanji for a second term in office.
The association gave the endorsement at Ikere Ekiti on Tuesday at a joint meeting of its Chairmen and members of the association in appreciation of the developmental strides of the Governor as well as the confidence in his ability to deliver on his electoral promises and move the State to greater heights.
Justifying the endorsement, the State Chairman of the Association, Pastor Idowu Olatunbosun stressed that the Governor’s strategic intervention in the education sector is worthy of commendation, noting that the administration had improved quality of infrastructure, teachers’ welfare, capacity building, security and overall accessibility to education.

He particularly lauded the Governor’s recent approval of the career extension of university graduate teachers in the Basic Education sector to grade level 16, stressing that the development would serve as a motivating factor for university graduate teachers in primary schools and promote effective performance.
According to him, Governor Oyebanji’s administration had tremendously improved the education sector in the State, adding that it is therefore reasonable to support a deserving Governor for second term to continue his good works for the benefit of all stakeholders.
Pledging the continued support of the association, Olatunbosun appealed to the Governor not to be distracted from the onerous task of sustaining the level of development in the State.
He urged parents and teachers to however reciprocate the Governor’s good gestures by living up to their responsibilities in order to achieve the desired goals.
Responding, the State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun expressed appreciation to the association for its support and accolades.
Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun who spoke through the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Public Advocacy, Dr. Ayolo Bakare Abdul assured that Governor Oyebanji remained focused and committed to upholding his social contract with Ekiti people, adding that the target is to bring prosperity to the people in the quickest time possible and no stone would be left unturned towards achieving the development agenda and vision of the founding fathers of the State.
