Ekiti pledges to continue to invest in the Education and future of children

Ekiti State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Olapeju Babafemi has pledged that the present administration would continue to invest in the future of children in the State stressing that the education and wellbeing of children are high on the agenda of the Oyebanji Administration.

Mrs Babafemi made the pledge during a support programme she organized for school children in Efon-Alaaye.

While stressing that children are indeed future leaders of the nation, the Commissioner emphasized that the commitment of Governor Oyebanji to their education and holistic development is unparalleled.

She said her support programme for the children was in tandem with present administration’s human capital development pillar and is designed to further compliment the Widows, Aged, Orphans and Hope initiative (WAOH) and the Annual Back to School Programmes of the Ekiti State First Lady, Dr Oluyemi Oyebanji that have provided a lifeline to widows and vulnerable people and supported the educational advancement of numerous pupils and students across the State.

Babafemi expressed hope that the empowerment programme would have the desired multiplier effect on the residents of Efon-Alaaye, a community that values education and has a track record of producing accomplished professionals and distinguished figures in various fields of human endeavors stressing that “we owe it a duty to motivate and inspire the younger ones in preparing them for a great future”

She prayed for the children and encouraged them to justify the State Government’s investments in their development .

In his remarks at the event, the Alaaye of Efon, HRM Oba(Dr) Adesanya Aladejare represented by Olori Roseline Adesanya Aladejare commended Governor Oyebanji for his love for Efon people and assured that the community would continue to support the good work of government.

Also speaking, Chief Mrs Aderonke Okusanya and the Elejofi of Aaye Quarters, Chief Bode Olayinka commended Mrs Babafemi for reaching out to the people and being a blessing to the community.

They said the gesture would remain indelible in the hearts of the school children and women.

Former Chairmen of Efon Local Government Area, Chief Joel Omoniyi and Hon Stephen Adetunji expressed their joy for the programme.

The Headmistress of the CAC Teachers College Demonstration School, Efon-Alaaye, Mrs Tejumade Abodunde appreciated Mrs Olapeju Babafemi for the gesture and commended Governor Oyebanji on behalf of the pupils for providing good leadership for Ekiti people at this time.

High point of the event was the presentation of 100 school bags to school children in the area while food items were also presented to women at the forum
