
The Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, has lauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his commitment to the promotion of arts, culture, tourism and way of life of the people of the State.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti while receiving members of the Ekiti Dialect Noble Foundation who paid a courtesy visit to her office, the State Scribe said the Governor had spared no efforts in promoting and marketing the rich cultural heritage of the state since assuming office in 2022
She commended the foundation for its efforts at preserving and promoting the Ekiti dialect, noting that many citizens of the State proudly displayed their language skills on social media, garnering global appreciation for the Ekiti dialect.
She highlighted that Governor Oyebanji is fully supportive of such initiatives and is determined to ensure the Ekiti dialect and culture thrive both within and beyond the state.
“The governor is ready to support this initiative so that our language can be fully established wherever we go,” she remarked.
Adubiaro stressed that in furtherance of the commitment of Government to cultural preservation, Governor Oyebanji had commenced the construction of a befitting arts and cultural center in the state.
This, according her would provide a platform to enhance the recognition and preservation of the Ekiti dialect and culture.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Ekiti Dialect Noble Foundation, Mr Omoniyi Dabi said the main objective of the Foundation is to foster unity among Ekiti sons and daughters worldwide and to promote the importance of the Ekiti dialect.
The visit was part of activities to mark the first anniversary of the foundation and to promote the Ekiti culture and dialect.
The foundation is a registered organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and works in partnership with the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts and Culture.
