
In a strategic move aimed at driving economic growth and promoting digital inclusion, the Ekiti State Government, through the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Board of Technical and Vocational Education, is set to launch a comprehensive artisan training programme for Master Craft persons across the State.
According to a statement released by the Commissioner of the Ministry, Mrs. Omotayo Adeola, the inaugural phase of the training would accommodate 250 participants, adding that the programme is scheduled to commence on 12th August 2024, at two locations; GTC Ado-Ekiti & GTC Ikole-Ekiti and would run for six(6) weeks.
The statement revealed that the training is designed to provide trade certification and integrate artisans into digital hiring platforms, noting that this would mark a significant step towards modernizing the State’s workforce and creating job opportunities for the skilled and unskilled youth population.

Riding on the job creation and youth development pillars of Governor Oyebanji’s administration, the initiative seeks to address longstanding challenges faced by artisans in accessing international recognized trade certification and tapping into digital employment platforms.
With the launch of this program, Ekiti State aims to equip artisans with the necessary skills including value orientation, work ethics and use of modern technology to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
