The Ekiti State Ministry of Education through the World Bank co-sponsored Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project has commenced training of no fewer than 89 Master Craft Persons (MCPs) in the State.
The training which is being anchored in collaboration with the National Board for Technical Education(NBTE), Kaduna involves actual training procedures and practical aspects.
Addressing participants during her visit to training centres across the three Senatorial Districts of the State, the IDEAS Project Coordinator, Mrs Adenike Akinyemi, charged beneficiaries to ensure they maximize the opportunity at their disposal by sharpening their skills and becoming experts in their various fields.
She said the Programme is designed to
promote the skills of participants and to improve their chances of employability.

The training which will last for 15 days, comprises various trade sectors like garment making/fashion designing, aluminium and metal fabrication, plumbing, and welding.
Showing appreciation to government for the initiative, one of the participants, Mrs Kemisola Oluwatoba commended the Government of Ekiti State for bringing the project down to the state.
She said, she has been able to acquire more skills, urging Government to make the programme a continuous one.
