CAVISTA HOLDINGS DONATES 23 LAPTOP COMPUTERS TO EKITI YOUTH RESOURCE/JOB CENTRE

The Resource/Job Centre initiative of the Ekiti State Ministry of Youth Development has received a boost with a donation of 23 laptop computers by Cavista Holdings, a leading Nigerian investment company and owners of Agbeyewa Farms Limited.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji had recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cavista Holdings to establish a state-of-the-art cassava farm spanning 100,000 hectares within the State.

Receiving the donation, the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Gold Adedayo expressed gratitude to donors and development partners that have contributed to making the Youth empowerment initiative a success.

Mr. Adedayo explained that the centre was established to enhance technological infrastructure, develop human capital and provide employment opportunities for youth development, adding that the centre would offer young people the much needed career tools, skill acquisition programs, career counseling, entrepreneurship support and job placement opportunities amongst other objectives.

Describing Governor Oyebanji as an exemplary leader with a strong implementation-oriented perception, Adedayo stressed that the Governor’s target is to nurture the youths and give them enabling structures and support required to make them self-sufficient and assets to the State.

Adedayo assured that the equipment would be judiciously utilized, adding that it would enhance connection, networking, engagement with peers and mentors as well as enrollment and follow-up on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

He solicited the support of well to do individuals and corporate organizations for efforts of the State Government to properly nurture the youth populace and secure the future, stressing the commitment of the present administration to forging impactful development partnerships with the private sector to safeguard the future.

Earlier while officially presenting the laptop computers, the Chairman of Cavista Holdings, Mr. John Olajide lauded the efforts of Governor Oyebanji to develop the State and improve the general wellbeing of the people particularly the youths.

Mr. Olajide who was represented by Executive Director of Agbayewa Farms Limited, Alhaji Dauda Lawal, promised to continue to support the centre which he described as a commendable innovation that would enhance youth development.

Olajide called on all stakeholders to support the efforts and lofty initiatives of the Oyebanji administration aimed at rapidly developing the State, stressing that taking collective and shared responsibility would engender sustainable and far-reaching success.

In attendance were representative of Aare Afe Babalola, the founder of Afe Babalola University, Prof. Biodun Ojo; the Chairman, Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Youth Development, Hon. Idowu Odebunmi; Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Digital Economy, Mr. Seun Fakuade; the Director General/Special Adviser, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, Dr. Moyo Ekundayo and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of youth Development, Mrs. Olusola Adelugi amongst others.
