Ekiti Civic Orientation Bureau Boss asks Students to Imbibe Values of Hard work , Honesty and Diligence

The Director-General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship (BCOC), Mrs. Olawumi Famuyiwa has admonished students of Secondary Schools in the State
to imbibe and demonstrate the core Ekiti values of hard work, honestly, diligence, dignity as well as respect for elders in their daily activities.

Speaking during a sensitization forum with Students of Baptist Comprehensive Secondary School, Ado Ekiti, Mrs. Famuyiwa noted that the programme which was organized in partnership with the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Chapter was aimed at moulding students and youths in the State to imbibe the right values and attitude in building a sane and virile society.

She also implored the students to emulate the virtues of good behaviors as Students urging them to ensure that their school and homes are clean at all times.

Mrs. Famuyiwa urged Students to study hard and work towards achieving excellence in their studies as well as eschew cultism, examination malpractices and other vices and forms indiscipline that could adversely affect them in future.

The BCOC Boss advised parents to ensure their female children are vaccinated during the forthcoming free vaccination exercise against Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) which would protect them for life against against cervical cancer without any side effect.

In his welcome address, the Principal of Baptist Comprehensive High School, Mr. Afolabi Ologunleko described the sensitization as a welcome development and thanked and thanked Ekiti State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for the gesture.

The Principal affirmed that the present administration under BAO which approved free WASCE and JAMB for the students should be commended for the administration to do more.

He eulogized the Governor for his people oriented programmes which many students are benefitting from in the State.

In his remarks, the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Chapter, Mr. Kayode Babatuyi advised the Students to be law abiding and aspire for greatness by making notable and accomplished personalities in the State as their role models.

It will be recalled that the Ekiti State BCOC had held a similar sensitization programme at CAC Comprehensive High School Ilawe Road, Ado Ekiti on Thursday.
