
Ekiti State Government has said that its 2024 budget of N159.2billion was designed to stimulate economic activities, create employment opportunities and guarantee food security in the State.
The State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun who made this known in Ado Ekiti noted that 40% of the budget was allocated to Infrastructure and Industrial Development.
Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun added that the budget was also tailored to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy and develop human capital index as well as facilitate capacity building for Civil Servants and promote arts and culture.
Olatunbosun stressed the commitment of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration to the development of the State and improving the lot of the people.

He stated that the objective of the budget is basically to instill good governance, provide security of lives and property, create an enabling environment for Macro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and facilitate Youth and women empowerment.
According to him, Government intends to utilize the budget to expand revenue base, collaborate with Development Partners as well as complete all ongoing and initiated developmental projects.
Describing the six-pillars of the Oyebanji led administration as conception of a strategic plan to keep the State working; Olatunbosun said that the budget tactically covered the entire agenda for sustainable development.
He stressed that “the six-point agenda of the Biodun Oyebanji’s administration was carefully selected based on the Governor’s wealth of experience and the yearnings of the people to improve the status of the State. Government’s focus is to meet needs of the people without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs”.
