Youths in the State have been charged to be promoters of the core Ekiti values of honesty, hard-work , diligence, uprightness and justice wherever they find themselves for a better Ekiti and Nigeria at large.
The Commissioner for Local Government Affairs Hon Folorunso Olabode gave the charge while receiving in audience the leadership of to he the Ekiti State Youth Parliament in his office in Ado Ekiti.
The Commissioner advised the youths to create and generate awareness on behavior change in their various constituencies with a view to bringing a remarkable change in the society.He advised them to work in synergy and interface with the government through the Councillors of various wards.
Olabode emphasized that they should mentor youths against social vices, noting that different transformation and developmental programmes should be organized at their various constituencies
The Commissioner stressed the need for youths to build solid and cordial relationship with other leaders in the societies and encourage regular conversation with them as it should begin with familiarization with the grassroots by showcasing activism.
He stated that the youths should plan their programmes with networking system and by writing proposals, running of constant campaign and facilitate contacts as well.
Olabode promised to mobilise support for the group having seen their zeal for hard work.

Earlier in his remarks, the Speaker of the Ekiti Youth parliament, Hon Olusanya Nathaniel solicited for the support and maximum cooperation of the State government and the Ministry to be able to operate on a bigger platform in order to showcase their image and ideas.
Hon Olusanya explained that the group is about making youthfulness attractive and useful and also in being the best in youth engagement for the Governor.
He said that members of the Youth Parliament have commenced community engagement in some towns, engaging in programmes to identify some vices in individual locality, sensitizing the grassroots on Gender Based Violence, Drug abuse and education sensitization programmes.
