
EKITI State Government has reiterated its readiness to partner with interested individuals and corporate organizations in the quest to boost economic development and creation of wealth for the people of the state.
The State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Otunba Kayode Fasae gave the assurance during separate meetings with the officials of Stanbic IBTC Plc led by the Zonal Agent Network Manager of the bank, Mr. Abdulrazak Amosa, and a team from Wema Bank Plc, led by Mr. Damilola Edewusi on the proposed agency banking programme in Ado Ekiti.
The Commissioner who stated that the present administration was passionate about the wellbeing and growth of the people in terms of job creation, said collaboration with reputable financial institutions would create employment and entrepreneurial opportunities through small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

While stressing that the State Government would continue to nurture and cherish partnerships with prospective investors, the Commissioner said that the names of the intending participants of the would soon be displayed on the data base of the Ministry
Otunba Fasae however urged would-be investors to submit proposals indicating areas where their organizations were hoping to partner with the State Government in good time for consideration and necessary approval.
He stated that the state government was proposing to start the programme in three Local Government Areas spread across the three senatorial Districts across the State.
In their separate remarks ,the Zonal Manager, Stanbic IBTC , Mr Amosa stated that the bank would train and empower about two hundred(200) participants adding that the training and empowerment programme would ensure the beneficiaries are gainfully employed.

Also speaking , the representative of Wema Bank, Mr. Edewusi said that one hundred (100) participants would be trained under its agency banking programme
The representative of First City Monumental Bank ( FCMB), Mr. Damilare Onasanya revealed that his bank was hoping to train women in vocational skills and give zero interest loans to the beneficiaries.
In the same vein, Mr. Kirit Sobti, a representative of an Indian firm, Change Intervention Program for Entrepreneurship Development (CIPED)who spoke virtually said that their organisation is hoping to train the unemployed youths in different vocational skills and would empower them to be self-reliant to achieve success.
Mr Sobti highlighted the possible strategies to pull people out of poverty to include: development of local entrepreneurs using indigenous resources, providing comprehensive business and entrepreneurial services to beneficiaries and growth of enterprise- led development market penetration as well as diversification of trade and others.
He stated that their firm has a track record of successes in training and skills development in Ghana, Niger, Guinea Conakry, Senegal and India as it’s pilot projects.
