SHOW KINDNESS, GIVE TO THE NEEDY DURING THE YULETIDE – PS FINANCE TASKS STAFF

The Permanent Secretary of the Ekiti State Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Oluwadare Jolumo has charged staff of the Ministry to show kindness and love to their neighbours by sharing whatever they have with them during the festive season.

The Permanent Secretary who gave the charge during the 2023 Service of Carols and lessons organized by the Ministry in Ado-Ekiti noted that a lot of people were going through Economic hardship as a result of the subsidy removal urging people with better income to extend their hands of love to those around them during the Yuletide

He pleaded with the people to imbibe the attitude of giving as exemplified by Jesus Christ who gave his life to redeem the world from the ”bondage of sin.”

In his words of exhortation, the Ministry’s Director of Expenditure, Mr Taiwo Ajobiewe who quoted copiously from the book of John described Jesus Christ as a perfect gift to the world which brings joy, gladness and peace that no man can give.

Mr Ajobiewe enjoined the people to embrace the gift of God which opens doors, gives hope and eternal life.

In a related development, staff of the Ekiti State Ministry of Finance and Economic Development have been advised to take stock of their activities and their positive contributions to their places of work in the outgoing year

The Chairman of Ekiti State branch of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Dr. Kolade Kayo-Ajayi who gave the admonition in his homily to the congregation during the end of year thanksgiving service organized by the Ministry in Ado-Ekiti stressed the need for people to do self-assessment of their output since the beginning of the year to ascertain if they have put in their best.

Quoting from the books of Revelation, Dr. Kayo-Ajayi said the end of a thing is better than the beginning, enumerating God’s faithfulness and goodness to humanity.

He commended the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji for attending to the welfare of workers in the state by the prompt payment of workers salary and allowances adding that the workers needed to justify his gesture by being committed to their duties.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Oluwadare Jolumo thanked the PFN Chairman for his timely visit to pray with the staff at such a special period of the year when everyone is grateful to God for witnessing the last month of the year, describing it as God-ordained and shouldn’t be taken for granted.
